A life of stewarding what God has entrusted to us drives What we do and How we do it.
Our Journey to Regenerative Farming started after we were born again to life in Jesus Christ. Before that, Jordyn and I were born and raised in Albuquerque, NM where we met freshman year in high school(yup, we're high school sweethearts). We moved to Tampa after graduating HS, because Jordyn received an academic and athletic scholarship to play soccer at University of Tampa (she's a stud, and those who know her will not be surprised) while I pursued a career in Real Estate. Once getting married after Jordyn graduated, we began our family, living in historic Ybor City in Tampa. Starting with our oldest daughter, Jadyn, we seemed to just keep popping them out every year and half totaling 4 children. Our beloved Jadyn, Jace, Jay, and James!
Pause halfway between having those kids in our young growing family and we were changed. Changed by God because of His grace with which he loved us and redeemed us by the substitutionary work of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on the cross where he endured the wrath of God in our place reconciling us from enemies of God to children of His who love and follow Him by His grace.
This caused us to examine all areas of our life: Personal, Marriage, Raising our Children, Church life, and what we would do for Work.
While doing some real estate work outside the city of Tampa and driving to the country areas I began to have a growing desire to live out in the beauty of God's natural creation: pastures, trees, animals, open spaces and away from distractions of the city. We started exploring what that could look like for us as a family and that's when I came across Joel Salatin's book, Folks This Ain't Normal while browsing through the book section at Goodwill lol. That led to more of his books, lots of research, and a more focused direction of what this could look like. Small Family Farming direct to consumer.
This was attractive for many reasons: I would be working at home with and near my lovely wife, working with my children with our hands, raising them up under the Lord, training them, struggling together, having fun together, and growing together. We would steward our bodies and health by eating clean nutrient packed meats and enjoying the fruit of our labors. And we loved the fact that we could bring this to our community and offer healthy, trustworthy, and delicious farm products. And lastly, we wanted to bring the truth and grace of Christ to our community through our family and farm.
We committed! We were changing career paths and moving to find some land. We sold our little bungalow in Ybor City, bought a 5th wheel RV and took a 4 month trip across the country while we planned and considered what this should look like. We made wonderful memories, saw some great sights and were eager to get back and start farming.
We stared Regeneration Family Farm on friends land in Plant City, FL while we hunted for a pasture of our own. After a total of 2 years in In the RV and on our friends land, we found a great spot just south in Lithia, FL (Southeast Tampa Bay). We are grateful to steward this land and grow our God- designed farm here while serving our beloved local customers.
We have been growing in many ways from our Family dynamic, the growth of our children, understanding and appreciating regenerative farming, and experiencing the continued graces of God.
You can find us on the farm working together each morning and afternoon as we move, water and feed our animals, on Saturdays, at local farmers markets, during the week delivering to our local customers, and on Sundays, worshiping and serving at our local Church.
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to His own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit
